Raven is a very special min pin lady. Raven is crate trained, leash trained and continuing to work on the fine art of potty training. This beautiful girl is proof there is life beyond the mill! She also enjoys TOYS! Raven is a TOY HOARDER! Her crate is always full of her collection! Her potential adopter must be willing to visit with her at MPMR before she will be allowed to be released to go home. She is a wonderful girl searching for just the right family who is willing to continue her rehabilitation once they have her at home. She will need someone who is patient and understanding of her history and who will allow her the time she needs to adjust. Raven's story - As you can tell from their post auction photo below left, Raven may be fearing what is going to happen to her next. She has no idea she is about to start down a fresh new start in life! One filled with love and happiness as a cherished family member! She most likely has not experienced much in the way of human contact, kindness, or love. In her five years of life, all she has known is living confined in a breeder's facility, forced to produce endless litters of puppies- which would soon be taken away from her.
Missouri Puppy Mill Rescue is devoted to these Raven and will work hard to teach her that people are supposed to offer love, safety, trust, and kindness to them instead of fear! As November comes to a close, Raven has started to feel safe enough to explore her new surroundings. The volunteers have also started to work socializing her to human touch. She is beginning to learn that human touch is not such a scary thing ! The volunteers say she is very sweet! We look forward to more progress as Raven learns to trust and welcome these people into their lives. A happy ending is in store for her one day!
28 November 2016: Raven got her first photos taken by a photographer! You can tell she was pretty worried but she was brave enough to sit for a few poses. Such a good girl!
5 February 2017: Raven has made much progress! She now allows our volunteers to pet and hold her...though it is still challenging for her at first. After a few moments of reassurance, she begins to relax and enjoy! She has found her voice and has no problem telling you when she needs attention. However, as soon as she is tended to, she is quite content once again. She enjoys exploring her surroundings...although she does so very cautiously and will seek safe haven in her crate if she gets overwhelmed. She gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue. But her most favorite thing of all....her toys!!! She is a toy hoarder!!! Check out the pic below!
26 March 2017: Raven has made a breakthrough in her rehabilitation....she is walking on leash! This is such an accomplishment for her! We are so very proud of her...one step closer to being ready for her furever family!!
14 April 2017: Raven's rehab is progressing nicely...she enjoys being outside on leash or off. She has even been on walks off site to Cleveland Lake! She is still a very timid girl...but as she is handled with calmness, patience and consistency her confidence grows.
