NASH - SHIH TZU - 3 Years - Available Now!

22 May 2017: This sweet boy Nash came to us in April of 2017. While doing his dental the vet discovered Nash had a split lower jawbone. Because of this, he was not eating well. His lower jaw was wired together. It is hoped this will allow it to heal. He has a recovery of 8-12 weeks from this procedure. His last vet visit he was doing very well. Since the surgery, he is eating well and starting to gain weight. He is a fiesty, spunky little guy who believes he is just as big as the biggest dog at MPMR! He is VERY fast! He is doing very well with his potty training.
17 July 2017: Nash has been released from medical care. His jawbone has healed as well as can be expected. Nash's family will need to understand his special needs. His bone structure is weakened due to bad breeding practices. Because of this structure and his small size, he will not go to a home with children under the age of 12 years old or to a home with dogs larger than 15 pounds. His family will need to continue his potty training and leash training. At this time, he needs a fenced yard as he is finding leash training a bit challenging. He gets along well with other dogs his size and would enjoy having a small breed brother or sister to play with. Nash is a little dog with a BIG personality! He will steal your heart!
MPMR adopts to families within a 1 1/2 hour drive of Belton MO. If you think you might be a good fit for this special boy, please message us to request an Adoption Application or call us at 816-401-0707.
