JADE ~ FEMALE ~ MORKIE ~ DOB 1/10/15 ~ Sanctuary
MAY 2019: Another beautiful, former puppy mill mama has made her way to our rescue. Behind that sweet face is a very frightened, nervous little girl. She can't tell us why, but we do know that her health and well being were severely neglected. All that is behind her now. We are focused on helping her heal and showing her that in her new world, she will be loved and cared for forever. Jade's progress has been slow, but we are seeing small signs that she is beginning to understand that she is finally safe. She progresses at her own pace, and we celebrate every baby step she takes.
OCTOBER 2019: Our little Jade is slowly gaining confidence. She has found a few canine buddies to hang out with, and is beginning to believe that rescue is a safe place. She is a little calmer around humans and has recently begun to join in some rowdy playtime with her canine friends. This is great progress and we are thrilled to see this beautiful girl beginning to enjoy her new life.
MARCH 2020: It is slow progress with this sweet girl. She enjoys playing outside and enjoys a few canine friends at the rescue. Occassionally, she will play with other dogs. One thing we have recently discovered is she is a pro at dog puzzles! She can manipulate the puzzles to find dogfood/treats in ALL of them! She comes closer to human friends at the rescue, but hands on petting is still a challenge. We will continue to work with her and let her progress on her time.
JUNE 2020: While it is still a challenge to get hands on this sweet lady, she does allow it occasionally. She is still very anxious around humans. However, she is learning and trying her best to trust. She has recently been able to enjoy walks in the park in the stroller. This allows her to experience the environment outside of MPMR in a safe, secure space.
Medical expenses through December 31, 2019 for Jade total $594.
