CLAIR CHIHUAHUA FEMALE DOB 4/18/15 ADOPTED
23 MAY 2017: Clair came to Missouri Puppy Mill Rescue on May 20, 2017.
She is very scared today. We will begin working with her in a few
days. Stay tuned for her progress!
20 July 2017: Clair is making wonderful progress at MPMR. She loves to run and play...but her most favorite thing of all is BELLY RUBS!!! She enjoys spending time with the other dogs here...hopping from one crate to the other seems to be a favorite pasttime. She still is very timid around humans. It is very challenging to get her to come to you. However, once you have gained her trust, she will show you her belly and she is yours!!! We are just beginning to work on leash training with Clair...so we will continue to work on that with her. We enjoy watching this sweet spirit come to life before our eyes!
We have an anonymous donor who has sponsored Clair!
August 2017: Clair is progressing well in her rehab. She is still timid, but is doing much better with everyone at the rescue. She will do best in a home without small children. She is progressing on potty training. But is finding leash training a bit challenging, so she will require a fenced area. She is a very calm girl who is just looking for a home who can provide her with lots of belly rubs!
December 2017: Clair has been attending Meet 'n Greet events and has been doing very well. She moves forward and asks to be petted...which is great progress! We have also discovered she is a very smart girl...who enjoys doing puzzles for treats! Treat balls, wooden puzzles...Clair is quickly mastering them!
February 2018: Clair has found her groove! That scared little girl we met in May is gone. The new improved Clair is the total package. She is great with other dogs, she loves to play with toys, and will do anything, seriously, anything for a belly rub.
March 2018: Clair is a totally different girl from the frightened little thing who arrived at the rescue last spring. She initiates play with her pals, and runs to greet visitors to the rescue. This is an amazing change from the little girl who hid and cowered in her kennel a few months ago. Come meet Claire and give her a belly rub, it will be the highlight of her day, and yours!
MAY 2018: From cowering in the corner of a cage expecting nothing but misery, to looking up at us with trusting eyes, wondering when the next belly rub will begin. Clair has become a social butterfly. She engages with human visitors and loves playing and napping with canine buddies in between belly rubs. She is ready for a home of her own.
Claire will need a home with a fenced yard and no children under 6. She gets along great with dogs her size. Her adoption fee is $200.
She is fully vetted, which includes dental, spay, microchip and vaccinations.
MPMR adopts to families within a 1 1/2 hour drive from Belton MO.
